A MAJESTIC SCENE ALONG THE SOUTH FORK KISHWAUKEE RIVER

Over a 2 day period (November 25-26), we received about 10 inches of snow and a little further west, some areas had upwards of 13 inches of snow. This year was the record snowfall for the month of November on record, 15.6 inches. On the 27th of November, I decided to have a little fun outside in all the snow we had along with some sunny weather and do some photography. One place I like to photograph is along the South Fork Kishwaukee River. There are some nice vantage points to view the river and set up the tripod. I enjoy photographing the fresh snow as it is pristine and pleasing to the eye. In this shot, the foreground is made up of mostly dogbane plants which are in the milkweed family. Moving through the scene of trees are a couple of oak, peachleaf willow and 2 cottonwood. Along the right side bank are box elder trees. (522-29)
