MORNING COLORS FROM THE CLOUDS ABOVE

This morning I decided to head out and photograph the storm clouds in the park that were coming through the area. You can usually get some pretty dramatic looking cloud patterns from the thunderstorms and that was my hope this morning. With my camera gear and tripod in hand, I reached the trailhead before 5:00 am. The morning light was filtering through the bluish/purple/grayish storm clouds and some lightning was coming through, once about every 30 seconds. The rain was being cooperative by holding off so I could photograph the sky above. I started to look for patterns with color and found many cloud subjects to choose from. Normally I would use a wider angle lens but, I decided to use my 105mm Nikkor lens to isolate certain areas of the clouds and began photographing the storm clouds on this June morning at Wildflower Park.
